Day 1 Arrival & Journey to Bromo
Your private guide meets you at Surabaya Juanda Airport or your hotel in Malang. The drive to the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park takes approximately 3 to 4 hours through East Java’s beautiful countryside, rice fields before entering the winding roads on the mountain, vegetable fields, volcanic highlands, and traditional villages along the way.
Arrive at your hotel near Cemoro Lawang in the late afternoon. Rest and prepare for the 3am wake-up call tomorrow. Dinner at a local restaurant. Early night.

Day 2 Bromo Sunrise → Drive to Ijen
3:00 AM Early wake up for the drive to Penanjakan viewpoint.
By 4:30am you are standing on the rim of the world, watching the first light of dawn turn the smoke-filled Bromo-Semeru caldera from dark purple to burning gold. Behind Bromo, the great Semeru volcano erupts every 20 minutes, a column of ash rising into the morning sky.
After the sunrise, your private 4WD jeep takes you down to the volcano floor through Bromo-tengger-Semeru national park. You walk across the ancient volcanic sand sea to Bromo’s crater rim, 250 steps up to the edge of an active volcano. The smell of sulfur, the roar of the earth, the sheer scale of it.
Return to the hotel for breakfast, pack up, and begin the 5 to 6 hour drive east to the Ijen Plateau. The drive itself is beautiful, through East Java’s coffee and tobacco plantations, past the colonial city of Bondowoso, into the highlands surrounding Indonesia’s most mysterious crater.

Day 3 Ijen Blue Fire → Ferry to Bali
1:00 AM — Begin the midnight hike to Kawah Ijen.
The trail to the crater rim is 3.4km of steady uphill — about 90 minutes with your guide. In the darkness, the path winds through a landscape that feels like another planet. Then, as you reach the rim and peer down into the crater, you see it: the legendary electric-blue fire.
Burning sulfuric gas ignites as it meets oxygen, creating flames that glow an impossible electric blue in the darkness. It is one of the rarest natural phenomena on Earth. Only two places in the world produce it at this scale and one of them is right here.
As dawn breaks, the blue fire fades to reveal Kawah Ijen’s extraordinary turquoise acid lake — one of the largest and most acidic volcanic lakes in the world, glowing green-blue in the early morning light.
Descend, return to the hotel for breakfast, then begin the drive to Banyuwangi port. The ferry crossing to Bali takes approximately 45 minutes. Your guide takes you directly to your hotel in Bali.
